n the heart of the Loire Valley, along the Thouet River: a 700 square foot converted barn (newly renovated) with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The house is ideally-situated in the heart of the Anjou wine region, a few miles from Saumur (well-known for it's castle and the French National Horse-Riding School, ''Le Cadre Noir'', wine growers, and troglodytes sites). Also nearby: important castles in Angers, Chinon, Montreuil-Bellay, Brézé, as well as Europe's largest monastic center, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, which features an excellent music and cultural program. Other worthwhile day trips include the exquisite Loire Valley castles, such as: Chambord, Blois, Cheverny, Azay le Rideau, etc. The house, which is about 187 miles from Paris (300 km), or about 2 hours by TGV, can accomodate two couples with children (sleeps six altogether). The appartement includes : an entrance hall, a large sitting and dining room with a small equiped kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom, and a small bedroom on a mezzanine level.

Anjou is renowned not only for its mild climate but also for its unspoiled natural surroundings along the Loire, its vineyards, its châteaux, and its new casino… You will be staying in a small renovated and comfortable barn (35m2) with access to the garden with animals (pony, goat and chickens) as well as its swimming pool (in season depending on the weather) , its spa and its pétanque court.

Old renovated barn with pool

Come and recharge your batteries in the countryside. It is an old barn renovated in a loft style, with no partitions. The accommodation is adjacent to our family home. Guests can take advantage of the indoor pool from May 20 to September 30. The accommodation is equipped with a double bed upstairs and a sofa bed in the living room. We can provide 2 mattresses for children to sleep on. You will have access to the barn via a private garden. Accommodation heated solely by a wood-burning stove!
